Nitronic 50 or UNS S20910 is a nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steel which in numerous corrosion-resistant tasks is superior to both 316 and 317 stainless steels. The Nitronic 50 Sheets are manufactured according to the ASTM A240 standards and ensure excellent resistance against pitting and crevice corrosion even under the influence of the marine, and chemical environments. They do remain strong and tough down to sub-zero temperatures and are non-magnetic when annealed. The sheets are common with and found in marine equipment, hot-water exchangers, pressure vessels and pollution control systems and pulp and paper industries.

Nitronic 60 Sheets on the other hand, which is UNS S21800, is characterized by outstanding galling resistance and wear characteristics. The grade which also meets ASTM A240 has been used as a cost-effective substitute to the cobalt bearing and the high-nickel alloys. The nitronic 60 has amazing resistance to chloride pitting and and stress corrosion cracking in addition to high temperature oxidation. The properties give it suitability in applications such as the valve stems designs, fastening systems, wear plates and food process plants to which frictional wear and loss of surface material are of paramount importance.
